Compressor run until the relief pops and bleeds the tank.

The compressor continues to run until it is unplugged from the electrical source. The switch will not shut it off. I have pulled the cover and lubed the area and it works fine for a short time.

Yikes!!! This is not a safe situation.

You need to replace your pressure switch right away, preferably before you use your air compressor again.

If your PRV fails and the pressure switch isn't working as well (and yours sounds like it isn't) then catastrophe will be the result.

Change your pressure switch now.
