compressor outlet air flow

my compressor which i use for my airbrush is not blowing out much air ,when i checked it appears the air seems to be coming out of the air intake pipe ,would switching the electrics have caused this to reverse

I would be surprised if "changing the electrics" would affect the flow of air into or out of your intake valve, Kes.

What I suspect has happened is that the valve is lodged open or has broken.
