Compressor only builds to 40lb

davilbiss f420 single cyl stops building air at 40lb. I have replaced the compression ring and gasket for that, still no pressure past 40lb.

Do you have compressed air puffing out the intake port when the compressor is running?

That's a sign of valve failure and may be why your compressor reservoir doesn't get past 40 PSI>
