compressor not kicking off at proper pressure

I have 80 gallon husky comp. and it doesn,t kick off at all. It keeps running until it blows the oil stick out. Is my pressure switch possibly sticking?

Hmmmm. Brian, regardless of the pressure build up, it sounds like your piston seals are leaking and allowing air into the oil sump, pressurizing it. That should happen. Also, your oil fill plug vent may be blocked.

Dump the air from the tank, start the compressor, and as it nears the normal cut out pressure level, wrap the switch with the handle of a screw driver. Don't break it! If the switch doesn't shut the power off to the motor at the correct pressure, replace the switch.

Cheers,

Bill
