compressor motor strated for a second then quit

I went to use the compressor, plugged it in, put the switch to auto and the motor seemed to flicker,and run for 1-2 seconds and stopped. I thought I "popped" a breaker. {I didn't}
So I tried a different outlet. It won't start up at all.

I wondered if there is an internal fuse. The power cord runs through an inline black box attached and then to the motor.

Pop over to the TROUBLESHOOTING page, and click the link to the pages about why compressors won't start. Have a read of the reasons and some of the diagnosis tips that are there.

If nothing works, post a note here and tell us what you've done, and we'll see if we can scare up another reason why your air compressor will not start.
