Compressor motor keeps overheating and cutting out?

Why does the air compressor motor keep overheating and cutting out? .

It works fine with one length of air pipe. It doesn't work right with 2 lengths. It just cuts out and restarts itself.

It's a 220 volt air compressor hooked up to a mask for spraying an attic with insulation.

Not knowing the model of your compressor, I can't say for sure, but probably you're exceeding the duty cycle.

The more pipe, the more resistance, so more load, so overload.

(The motor has to work harder to maintain the pressure)

Possibly, if you can, get bigger pipe/hose. Might help.
