Compressor location in carport?

by Bill

Can I put my 80 gal. vertical air compressor on a open car port that has a roof over it and pipe the air into a heated garage? I was wanting to do it this way to keep to noise out of the garage. Thanks Bill

Different oil

Yes, they do, and that may work for you. Just be sure it's non-detergent. As long as it can start reasonably well, I'd stick with what it came with.

There's still the potential for frozen water though.

Cold Temp Oil

Don't some compressors recommend different weight oil for different temperatures?

Maybe you could run the air in some vent pipe or something, so the air from inside the garage could circulate around the compressor...

The issue that would be of most concern to me Bill would be that your air compressor would not start due to it being frozen.

Once it gets running, pumping air into the heated garage wouldn't create an issue.

Getting the compressor to start when it was frozen would be the issue, that and trying to drain the tank when water in the base of the tank might be frozen too.
