Hello Fahad,

You don't include much info about your air compressor. I am going to guess that it's a reciprocating type in my response.

As the piston moves up and down, oil from the sump is supposed to splash up around the crank shaft, into the cylinder, and all parts, to provide lubrication and cooling.

The part that is supposed to keep the oil in the sump and out of your air stream are the seals on the piston.

If these seals are worn badly, oil stays on the cylinder wall as the piston cycles, and makes it's way from the sump into the air stream.

All recip compressors do this. The amount of oil that moves from the sump to the tank is a measure of how badly these seals are worn.

From what you say, I think yours are worn pretty badly, and it's time to tear down the pump for a rebuild. My two cents worth, at least.

Cheers and good luck,

Bill

I'll guess it's a rotary screw compressor.
This type of compressor compresses a combination of air and oil to your desired pressure. This air/oil approaches an air/oil separator filter which allows the air to pass through but not the oil. The majority of oil returns to the sump. A very small (5ppm) amount will get through but will be returned to the system via the scavenge line.
I would suggest replacing the air/oil separator and while doing so check your scavenge line for any obstructions.
