Compressor is consuming too much oil and the oil examined is burnt and contaminated

Our compressor is a three stage piston type coupled to a 110KW belt driven motor complete with Automatic Condensate Drain.

Bill says...Ronnie, when a compressor consumes more oil that normal, where does it go?
Usually, the problem is that the piston rings are worn to the point that lots of oil bypasses them when the piston is cycling.
Some of that oil moves into the air stream, into your tank, and downstream to your applications, which is not good. Compressor oil is not air tool or air valve oil and will normally damage seals.
That your oil is burnt suggests that you have metal to metal contact (probably in your piston to cylinder) and that's not good either. If you score the piston or cylinder, you will be in for much more cost than a piston seal kit.
I'd suggest you get your compressor to a shop fast.
Cheers,
Bill
