compressor draws 43 amps and trips breaker

can spin by hand. No mechanical binding or resistance. Capacitor centrifical starting switch OK. ?????why such a high amp draw ?

That it starts OK suggests the start cap and switch is OK, but the high current suggests the RUN cap (black in color, 60mf) may be either not connected, weak, or possibly even shorted.

it is a single phase 30 gallon air compressor. Husky Model 516-051..... runs fine starts to build pressure but due to the fact it draws 43 amps eventually it trips the breaker
