Compressor builds pressure to 120psi and will not shut off

Air compressor builds pressure to 120psi and then can't build any more pressure to shut off compressor and it just keeps running. The jug is getting very hot. it's only 5 months old ingersoll rand. Any ideas.?

There are a number of reasons why a compressor stops building pressure, but keeps running. Reading the information and pages linked from that one will provide them all.
