compressor builds pressure but none comes out

(I have a) small task force air compressor.

The compressor will build pressure and indicates on gauge 125 psi.

Second gauge for outlet indicates zero presuure. I have turned the knob in completely to maximize the out let pressure, but still have zero reading on gauge and none to hose.

Bill answers...

Howdy, and thanks for writing in from Missouri.

You aren't the first person, and probably won't be the last, to close your regulator tight, shutting off the air pressure and flow to the air hose, instead of opening it up.

It's either that, or your regulator has failed in some way that block the air flow (unlikely), or you've got something in the tank discharge or air line before the regulator that is blocking the air.

Try turning the regulator knob the other way. Also, check and see if there's a shut off valve on your compressor between the tank and the regulator.

Cheers,

Bill
