Compressed Air After Cooler savings
by Vish

I am an entry level Mechanical Engineer!
From a recent energy audit one of the ECRM (Energy Cost Reduction Measure) associated with the Compressors is to install air after cooler between compressor and main receiever tank.
I was wondering how would I generalize the savings after the after cooler is installed.
Any help or suggestion on what I should look for/refer would be appreciated members.

Vish, if you installed an after cooler before the air dryer, and you knew the cost of running the dryer before the after cooler was installed, then it would be easy to quantify the savings.
By putting the after cooler before the main receiver, you are beginning the de-watering process, and this has positive ramifications for downstream air preparation efficiencies, and perhaps, reduction of component maintenance downstream, but I do not know the metrics you would use.
Others comments are sure welcome here.
