Compair CR.185 silenced model kills engine unless hose shutoff is open

by Gerry Whalen

The engine runs fine but unless the shutoff valve on the hose is open, it will kill the engine.

Talked to Compair this morning but they say this model is about 40 years old and they have no technical or parts information and that parts would be obsolete.

Generally, there's a valve on the intake of the air end that should close at cutoff.

You probably have either a bad pressure switch or the valve is otherwise not being closed.
