Coleman Powermate Piston Ring

by Eric

Hi Bill, I searched but did not find an answer to my question. I have a "Coleman Powermate Premium Air Compressor". It's a 27 Gallon Oilless, Single Stage, Direct Drive, Electric Air Compressor Model: CLA0602712 with 1.9hp (6.0hp peak). Would you happen to know if it's possible to replace the piston ring on this model? I can not find a Powermate specific piston ring (though it appears to be same dimensions of other brands). It appears that only the piston/cylinder/ring combo is offered for sale. It does not appear the head is removeable from the piston like on other brands. Any advice on this one? Thanks in advance.

David, farm boss looks like a Stihl trademark, not coleman.

What model do you have?

I have a Coleman powermate Farm Boss air compressor 60 gallon tank I got a rebuild kit for the compressor.

I need to know where the 1st and 2nd rings go, and which is top of ring - does the groove go up or down?

I see what I guess is the kit you refer to (60 to 85 bucks), but I also see the ring, item 7 on the diagram.

It's available, e.g., at master tool for $4.13
