Clarke ranger builds to 80 psi and won't go any higher

I have a Clarke ranger 24 ltr 1.5 Hp oiled type,it builds to 80 psi max and just keeps running.

I have stripped down head and inspected reed valves and they seem fine, replaced all gaskets except aluminium shim but has made no difference, also checked for leaks when unit is off and at 80psi all is fine, have good suction on intake and exhaust pressure is good check valve is good !!

I am now at a loss as to what is causing this bearing in mind that it is not used that much and I have always drained off tank after every use.

Any clues would be welcome Dave.

Crankcase leaking

If the drawing I have is any good, you can remove the dipstick and put a finger over the opening. Do you feel pressure while it's running?

Air from crankcase
by: Dave

It's awkward to know if air is blowing from crank case as cooling fan air is blasting all around this area when running.

Ranger compressor only builds to 80 psi only

About all that's left is rings, I'm afraid.

Is there air coming from the crankcase?
