Compressor takes long time to build pressure. Took head off and cylinder looks fine, but the check valve was laying loose over the piston hole. It looks like the pins that hold the check valve in place are missing.

Valve

On the other side of that gold plate is a U shape reed that has probably broken. I've gone through two of these myself and they are almost impossible to find to order online. The two pins you are referring to just sit in the holes and they will easily fall out when you open up the compressor if not careful. Same thing happened to me my first time disassembling mine.

valve pins?

Sure looks that way.

Are you sure they weren't there and fell out?

If so - looks like you could get some metal rod (heck, nails, whatever) and make some.

Reassemble and test.

You might need a new gasket or some sealant, and that may not fix whatever you tore it down for, but it's a start.

Have fun and good luck.
