Circuit breaker pops at 80 lbs.

(My compressor) circuit breaker pops at 80 lbs not at 120. Let cool and it works.

I need 120 to blow up tires. Can I bypass the breaker?

Hello Stu:

Simple answer? No.

It sounds like your motor might be kicking out the breaker on thermal overload.

Trying to bypass the breaker could result in a fire, or at least meltdown of your motor.

Regardless, you need to get the unit fixed before using it.

Bill

Compressor problem

Hi Stu...

Thinking further about your problem today, maybe you've got a bum pressure switch?

At the low kick in pressure of 80 PSI, you may have a short when it tries to kick in, and this pops the breaker.

Regardless, if it were me, I'd get it fixed before I used it.

Cheers,

Bill
