CH Model HJ300200 quits running before reaching 150psi

I have a Campbell Hausfeld 20 gal upright oilless air compressor, model HJ300200. 120V that is a 200 psi compressor.

Compressor starts up fine and builds pressure, but stops running after a few mins.

It will build up to different pressures, but never to the 150psi that it's set at.

When it stops, I can see the contacts on the pressure switch are still in the closed position, which leads me to believe that the pressure switch is fine.

I have used this compressor very little and bought it new. What could be the problem?

Before I suggest that you check the motor capacitors (a page about how to do that is on this site) you might have a look at the power supply.

Is it a 20 amp breaker it's plugged in to?
Are other items pulling power at the same time?
Are you using an extension cord?

If the setup hasn't changed in terms of the power supply, and all of a sudden you are experiencing premature shut down, then I would look to the start and run capacitors to be sure they are good.
