central pneumatics 47065 tripping curcuit breaker

Motor tries to start and then breaker trips.

Is this caused by the starter capacitor?

There is no load on compressor when trying to start. The model is a central pneumatics 47065.
Hello Bob... did you check to ensure that the unloader valve is working? Will the compressor start if the tank is empty?

If not the unloader, are you using an extension cord or power bar? Don't, if you are.

Then, I would look to the start capacitor as being the possible cause.
