the start capacitor blew, im looking for a replacement capacitor. I installed a 250v 70 mf and it also blew. I did find out that this so called start capacitor never drops out of circuit so apparently it needs to be a run capacitor. please let me know where i might purchase a replacement.

thanks ,rick

Rick, as I expect you have figured out by no HF isn't good on providing spare parts for products currently available, or those that have been discontinued such as the 47065 compressor.

It were me, I'd be talking to these folks to help you find a replacement:

Need vented dipstick for model 47065. Where?

Central Pneumatic air compressor 47065

I can't find a vented dipstick for my central pneumatic 21 gal. model 47065 the part number is 14B but no one has been able to help.

Everyone I've contacted says it's discontinued. Don't want to blow oil all over the place but that's what is happening since my best solution so far has been to use one that doesn't fit properly and is held on by good ol' duct tape.

Yikes. The one I need should be pressure held, not threaded. Someone suggested buying any plug that would fit and drill a small hole in it to act as the vent. Thoughts?

Necessity is the mother of invention, Dianne. I'd go for the replacement and drill a small hole it were my compressors.

For crying out loud, how can a dipstick be discontinued?

Who does the warranty repair for the store where you bought yours? Check with them too.

Good luck. Your request is posted for others to see and perhaps contribute.

I also would be a bit concerned if a lot of oil was blowing out. That suggests an overfull oil sump, or you might have significant leakage of compressed air past the piston seals into the sump. Do you feel a lot of air coming out of the oil fill tube while the compressor is running? If so, it is probably time to replace the piston seal.

Cheers,

Bill

That's almost always the case with HFT.

More like NWA - never was available...

Anyhow, I don't see that one listed any longer.

If it's belt driven, and you refer to one of the pulleys, you can measure it and try to find something similar. Be aware that the size may be ASE, or may be metric.

Good luck.
