Can't get air pressure from compressor for more then two to three seconds

by David

I have a 20 gallon upright oiless compressor that will build up pressure to about 110 pounds but when I use the compressor to inflate a tire it only pumps air for two or three seconds and then losses pressure even though the tank gauge still shows 110 pounds. What could be the problem?

No air out of hose?

Most issues reflecting this condition are covered on this page.

It were my compressor, based on your post, I'd be looking at the regulator as the culprit, but until you do all the checks, I cannot be sure.
