Can I run an air nailer with my 5.1 iron horse air compressor.

When you say yours is a 5.1 Iron Horse compressor, does the 5.1 refer to the HP?

If so, then you must be running it on 220 Volts as you cannot run a 5 HP motor with a 120 VAC power supply.

Having said that, a 5 HP compressor should generate in the are of 20 CFM of compressed air at 90 PSI.

What you haven't said is what the compressed air demand of your air nailer is.

However, even a small compressor putting out 90 PSI or so will fire a nailer. It's just that, if there isn't enough compressed air flow, you may not be able to nail quickly enough for your needs.
