can a two stage compressor be converted to a dual cylinder compressor and will it work correctly?

I have a dual stage air compressor that i would like to convert over to a two cyllinder comprssor. What would I have to do to make it work coreectly? How would you plumb it?

Bill says...Hi David. Just so I'm sure what you want, you have a two stage air compressor (one cylinder compresses first and then feeds that already compressed air into the second cylinder, for compressing into the tank) and you want to convert it to a dual cylinder compressor, where each cylinder pumps air into the tank... is that correct?
It seems to me to be as simple as having the line from the first cylinder plumbed, through a check valve, into the tank, making sure that the new line enters the line to the tank below the check valve in the line from the second cylinder.
In this way, air will go directly to the tank, and not bleed back up the other line.
Hope I got it right. Now, I'm puzzled as to why you'd even want to?
Cheers,
Bill
