campbell-hausfeld - there was no pressure on the gauge like it did not kick

6hp 60 gallon there was no pressure on the gauge like it did not kick on at 80psi and the breaker was off , i fliped it on and i could here low humming noise come from the motor , it did this for about 10 sec. then stopped and i kept flipping the breaker on and off but no reponse from anything and i did not see any wires fried so i stopped there.

Clay, make sure you are plugged into clean power, no extension cords, dump the air from the tank to make sure that it is empty, close the tank drain (or use this opportunity to test your PRV) and turn the compressor on again.

Any change? If not, my first guess would be a start capacitor, but there's really not enough info here to be sure.
