our Campbell Hausfield 5 hp 120 volt 13 gal - air compressor was working a few days ago- now- won't start- when plugged in- no noise- looked at parts diagram- couldn't find fuse- Any ideas?

Is there a place I could find a more detailed parts diagram?

Be good if you had included a model number with your post, Betty. I don't know of any Campbell Hausfeld air compressors that are 5 HP on a 120 Volt supply.

You can add that info, but first, why not see the troubleshooting section, and read the page about why air compressors will not start? Lots of tips there and things to check.

After that, come back and leave a comment here is you weren't able to find the issue, and do please post the model number.

Bill

Betty says - "I found sites with photos similar to ours- I have since been told it was bought at Walmart- so I wonder where Walmart get's their stuff? - "

Wallmart gets their stuff from whoever is cheapest.

The model number, WB650102AJ is invalid.
Is it maybe WL650102AJ?

Anyway, if you have not already gone thru the troubleshooting steps, do that and let us know what you find.

NZ not

I knew you are in Corvallis - it's just there is no such thing as a (real) 5hp motor with 120V plug-in except in NZ.

That aside, you say you found a diagram?
Online or in your manual?
Can you post it or a link to on-line? I'm not finding this thing at all. The designs are few in small compressors, so we can probably help given that.

OR - even a few pix of all four sides and maybe the top so we can better tell what you have.

We're in the good old USA- west coast-
the thing was working fine a week ago - need a more detailed parts diagram- the one I found did not label electrical parts.

According to all the factory printing- Campbell Hausfield 5 hp 120 volt 125 max psi horizontal air compressor- Model # WB650102AJ
I'm guessing it is sold by Sears or Costco based on the person we got it from.
Seems like there must be a blown fuse the way it quit all of the sudden- but can't find any fuse on the parts diagram - We did drain it- didn't make any difference- acts like no connection or a broken electrical connection - but when we opened it and looked at it- nothing appearewd to be broken.

Is power getting to the pressure switch? Has the pressure switch tripped to passing and is power getting to the motor circuit? If yes to both, then I would suspect a failed start capacitor next.

You'd have to be on at least a 30A circuit for that to work, and there is no standard North American plug/socket rated for that.

Did it come from New Zealand?
