I have a CH model wl611102aj, had for many years, recently it blowed (created a hole)in the unloader tube near the nipple where it attaches at the unloader check valve, replaced tube (same result)replaced pressure switch and tube (same result) removed cleaned the check valve replaced tube (same result). The tube I use is one I purchased at auto parts, appears to be of the same guage and quality. Any suggestions.

John, I can just "hear" the frustration in your voice. Sorry you are having the problems.

Over the years I have had occasion to test the bursting point of P.E. tube a number of times. I can tell you that the tube and the hose I tested for compressed air use has a burst strength more than a couple times higher than it's rated pressure.

You don't indicate the material that the unloader valve tube is on your compressor, but, if it is rated for the pressure of your air compressor, then it is, I suspect, a mechanical issue with either how it's installed or where it's installed.

Either that or the tube isn't rated for the pressure.

If it is blowing or perforating in the same place every time, look for a mechanical issue. (Something sharp - maybe vibration related).

Cheers,

Bill
