installed new pressure switch kit.because no air was building in tank...

I switch on with lever..air immediately emits from valve outside head on top of main air line..also from bottom of unloader.

I removed check valve ,which is spring and plastic seal plug..when running compressor seems too have good pressure..after running compressor a few minites..air line is hot but still no pressure on gauges..

small amount of air builds in tank I found when pop valve is pulled after compressor is shut off by lever..

i pulled off head ..

flapper and rings seem good condition..

new head gasket..

this compressor2008 and used very little..

it just stopped all at once producing pressure..

hope this info helps ..thanks doug

Hey Doug... I just need to know if what I'm understanding by reading your post is what you mean about your Campbell Hausfeld compressor complaint.

You put a new pressure switch on... but don't say why. The air compressor starts and runs but does not build enough pressure to reach cut out and stop on it's own?

I don't know what this means.. "air pressure out pop valve just outside head". Does it mean that when you pull the ring on the pressure relief valve that you are getting a good stream of air out? If so, is the compressor running at this time, or stopped?

What does "good air pressure up to the pressure valve" mean? Are you referring here to what I term as the air regulator? If so, how do you know you are getting good pressure to it?

When you say "air pressure leaks out bottom of needle valve" is the needle valve you refer to what I would deem as the unloader valve? If so, if you have air leaking out of the unloader valve when the compressor is running, that suggests that the unloader valve has failed, or is being toggled open when it's supposed to be shut. That may happen when a different pressure switch is installed. Possible?

As a comment please provide more info and we'll see if we can help.

Cheers,

Bill
