Campbell Hausfeld compressor won't shut off

My air compressor has started having trouble shutting off, once it starts refilling. Sometimes it will, but sometimes I have to manually shut it off after a few minutes of waiting for it to shut off on its on.

I immediately turn it back on and use it for less than a min, then it comes back on and starts filling up again.

I was told it could be the regulator going bad. Is that the problem?

Karen... "Is the pressure rising steadily, and past the normal cut out, or is the pressure reaching a plateau and not going any higher?"

This reading will from the tank gauge, not the regulator gauge.

Is the compressor building pressure past 50 PSI as shown on the tank gauge?

See the troubleshooting page about compressors that won't build pressure too for some things to check.

It's started acting up again. I keep it on approx 50lbs and that's what the gauge is reading, but it just keeps running. I manually shut it off then back on, use it for less than a min, then it comes on again, like it's out of air.

Tell me about the pressure level in the tank when the compressor won't shut off.

Is the pressure rising steadily, and past the normal cut out, or is the pressure reaching a plateau and not going any higher?

No, I don't believe it is a pressure regulator problem.
