Broken breathing nozzle

by Ray Lafortune

Broke the breathing nozzle on my 8 U.S.gal. Mastercraft air compressor.

That part unavailable from them so they shipped me a relief valve to use instead. Is that safe and if not do you know where I can get the right breathing nozzle?

Help still needed with intake filter
by: Bill

If you Google "compressor intake filter" as I just did, you will find many sources.

If you still have it, use the old one as a guide to acquire the new.

The two critical issues were mentioned in my previous post, Ray.

Mastercraft intake

My, I've never heard the term breathing nozzle for an intake filter before. There you go. You learn something every day!

Check the hole thread size, find any compressor intake filter with the same male thread side, with a hole in the side of it at least as big as the intake port.

On smaller compressors the intake filter, rather than having a plate on the front through which air can pass, typically have a hole on the side into which air is drawn, and then through the filter element into the compressor.

These are not rocket science parts, and I expect any manufacturer's would do the job, as long as the intake in the filter is equal to or bigger than the intake port in the pump head.

Ray, I'm sorry, but your parts names are confusing to me.

By breathing nozzle are you referring to what I would call the air intake filter up near the top of the pump?

Not quite sure how a PRV (pressure relief valve)could work in the intake port of an air compressor pump, for sure.

Please further identify what part we are talking about here, K?
