Bostitch CAP60P-OF, 6 gal air compressor will not build pressure past 40 psi. It runs until I turn it off but only achieves 40 psi, not 100 psi.

No apparently leaks heard with motor off.

Removed top cover, motor belt and piston is running.

After shutoff, the gauge is showing the tank holding the 40 lbs of pressure.

Do you suspect the reed-valves?

Do you sell the head gasket(2), and reed-valves, so I can do a DYI?

Unit was purchased in 2006, but only used as a hobby woodworking use. (maybe every 1-3 months for a day)

Thanks,
Leonard Roberts

"Do you suspect the reed-valves?"

Yes Len, among other things. This problem is covered in the troubleshooting section.

"Do you sell the head gasket(2), and reed-valves, so I can do a DYI?"

No I don't sell compressor parts myself, but I expect my advertisers do.
