Bostitch CAP60P only builds to 30 PSI

by Tim

Bostitch 6 Gallon pancake, CAP60P OF (OL195), code# 8213345BWA020, 2006.

It had been taking longer and longer to build pressure, then ran and ran and wouldn't pump up past 30 PSI or so.

Just tried it again this morning, it ran for a half of a minute and then quit - sounded like it unloaded but only made 20 PSI (both gauges). Let the air out of the tank but it won't start again now at all.

Before it quit altogether, I pulled the discharge pipe out of the tank (from the pump) and it seemed to be pumping plenty of air.

Check valve appears to be ok.

Can't find an air filter.

Pop valve works fine.

Drain valve is closed.

What is the problem?

Thanks, Tim

You need to take the cover off.

There may be a reset button on the motor, or the connections could be loose.

You probably need either a new piston ring and/or new reed valve.

Good luck.
