Bogs down on start and doesn't build pressure

by Jay

The compressor starts and sounds like its straining, makes a honking sound. It has three air intakes that i can feel very little vacuum from. When i plug one port with a finger, it increases the vacuum from the other two ports and the motor sounds less strained, but still not enough to build pressure. Any help?

Kobalt bogs down

If it's bogging down after 10 minutes, I would suspect an overheat situation. It may be that you are exceeding the duty cycle of the compressor or the power supply to it may be insufficient.

You don't indicate the model number, and that would have helped in trying to nail down the issue.
