blows internal 3amp fuse

will run till pressure is reached ,shuts off as it should but never comes back on when pressure drops,fuse will be burnt every time.

Based on what you are saying, that the compressor will start with no pressure, run to cut out, you use some air, then when it tries to restart it burns the fuse, the first think I think of is the pressure switch.

What is fused, though? Where does the line coming into the fuse terminate? The fuse is there to protect that item from too much amperage, and if the item is pulling too many amps, that would suggest the electrical component itself is suspect?
