Bambi 9 liter compressor dosen't build pressure

by Ball Gabi
(IUK)

Hi,

I receive a used Bambi compressor (10 yeas old).
The delivery guy was so "nice" and smash both gauges and spill all oil.

I replaced both gauges and fill it up with OEM oil.

The unit start and run normal, but the pressure gauge rise only to 0.5 bar.

I drained the tank. I clean the filter and the saftey pressure valve.

What else I sould check / replace?

It is time for that old piece to end up in the skip?

Thank you
Gabi

As noted in my last response....

"After you dump all air from the tank, pull the tank check valve to be sure it's not plugged up.

See the page under troubleshooting about compressors that don't build pressure for more things to check on your Bambi compressor. "

When you have done this, please add a comment with your findings.

That the compressor problem is occurring after some rough handling makes me think that the problem is mechanical in origin.

Further investigation
by: Gabi

Hi Bill,

Continuing my investigation on the compressor. What is happening is like this:
- gauges are both new;
- the big one read only 0.5 bar;
- the motor runs till hot and go into thermal shut down;
- when the motor stop the pressure gauge read zero;

Any other advice?

No air pressure

A few more things I would check are... are you sure that the pressure is only getting to .5 bar, or is it that the air gauge isn't working?

After you dump all air from the tank, pull the tank check valve to be sure it's not plugged up.
