air will not build.

>Did it ever?
but engine run.

some noise from compr/element.

>A new noise? Different noise?

Try looking at the site map for reasons why air pressure does not build; for instance, is the tank drain valve closed?

Atlas Copco XAS 66 - Ran out of fuel and machine

Ran out of fuel and machine will not re-start. We changed the fuel filter but it is still not getting fuel to the engine.

Don't know fer certain, but the thought that you might have a vapor lock comes to mind.

Good luck.

Does atlas copco ga15 shut down when it reaches cut out

by john keen

Hi,
I am thinking of buying a second hand atlas copco GA15, although it is a 1983 model it has only done 3,000 hrs.

i need to know if this machine shuts down when the receiver is up to pressure or if it can be adapted to do so, or if this type of machine continuously runs.

we wont want air all day long so having it running all the time does not seem like a good idea, however when we do want air we dont want to have to keep turning it on and waitin for it to buid pressure before we have air

GA15
by: Carls421

Hi,
These machines are very good and yes they will switch off when air is not used (usually between 2-5 minutes when no air required, depending on what the controller has been programmed)
Please bear in mind though, screw machines are recommended to be serviced every 2000 hours or 12 months, which ever comes first, so check to see when this was last done, and what type of service has been done on it. ie 2000 hours should be air filter, oil filter, oil change. 4000 hours should have been all the above including the separator, 8000 hour should have been all the above plus MPV and inlet valve service plus belts.
The controller may be an electronicon Mk I or Mk II (Digital displays) they should tell you whether these services have been completed

Hope that helps

Carl

This "ga15" encompasses a number of options.

It may run continuously, or not. A picture and or full model number would help, as would knowing more accurately how much air and how long and how often you need it...

Depending on those answers, and even if it normally runs continuously, I'm sure you could outboard a pressure switch to turn it off, if that's needed, or perhaps just a plain old switch.

Have you tried emailing atlas copco?
There's a link on their website.

Otherwise, a picture might help - not me, but there are others on here who might recognise it.
