I have an old Magna Force 30 Gal 9.0cfm 3hp compressor that I picked up years ago. The motor turned out to be bad so I decided i was going to retrofit a gas engine to it instead. Well here we are several years later and I didn't finish that project either so now I have taken an electric 1 hp motor from another compressor, bought a modern shut off switch and have a working compressor again.

The question is, should I keep this one and use the hell out of it or sell it and buy something more modern/ I really want / need a 60 gal compressor (plasma cutting and sand blasting) but this could get me through in the meantime.

Thanks for any input, P.S. the tank seems in good shape from the outside, I haven't put a camera inside yet.

The only way to certain is a pressure test.

You can do it yourself if you have a hydraulic pump.

Failing that, if it looks reasonably smooth on the inside (camera) then it's probably OK.
