Grainger doesn't recognize the part number, It is an older pump that looks similar to the 3Z492A pump, but must be significantly smaller as it is running off a 3/4 horse motor. Anyone recognize the model number or have any insight into any hidden meaning in the number?

Granger found it in their paper records,
1964 model, 2 cylinder single cycle, runs @~1750 rpm, 3/4 to 1.5 hp motor. max pressure 125 psi. not sure on the CFM but it will fill a ~13gallon tank to 125 in under 2 min.

The pump will normally get very hot, hot enough to burn skin.

If you are running the compressor excessively, and it is not a continuous duty model, then you are literally burning up the motor and pump.

See the page on DUTY CYCLE for more info, and post again here if this doesn't help.

Cheers,

Bill
