Badger oils

I suspect what is driving your inquiry is that the oil from Badger is a might expensive?

The 480-2 is their - now discontinued - silent model.

The thing is, they have a pretty spectacular warranty... No labor cost to fix anything on any of their products... parts cost only, and they'll contact you before they add them.

So, my concern would be that by using a non-OEM oil you may void that warranty, if it still exists for the silent series.

They use a synthetic compressor oil as it's a high cycle, possibly higher heat application.

In the absence of actual Badger supplied oil, if this were my compressor and I wasn't concerned about the warranty, I'd buy Synthetic Compressor oil and use it, and I see the Porter Cable synthetic air compressor oil is about 1/2 the cost of the Badger product.
