Airbrush compressor shuts off too early

by Simon

Hi thanks in advance,

I have a hobbie airbrush compressor with tank.

When attached to the tank the compressor runs for approx 2 seconds and cuts out. If you remove the tank and let the compressor vent to air it will continually run.

I believe the sensor is switching off to low. But I have no idea where to get a replacement. Many thanks

Si

Airbrush compressor shuts off

When not attached to the tank, there's no back pressure, and the compressor essentially freewheels.

When attached to the tank, there's back pressure on the compressor, and the compressor stops.

That suggests that there is a blockage between the pump and the tank, which could be a valve in the pump... not sure.

It could also be the pressure switch.

Not knowing your make or model of compressor makes it impossible for me to help with a source.

Google "parts for xxxx airbrush compressor" where the xxxx is your make and model. See what turns up. Let us know. Thanks.
