As196 compressor is making a knocking sound

AS 196 Twin Cylinder air compressor
Hi my compressor is a as196 twin cylinder with a tank.
The issue is that after a minute or so it begins making a knocking sound which gets worse the higher the pressure gets....
The compressor seems to be working as well as ever but I wonder if it's on its way out and would rather try to fix it now....
Any ideas would be appreciated thanks
A bit hard to diagnose, David, since I cannot hear the noise.
I'm happy to post this in the event that another AS 196 air compressor user has had the same experience and can comment.
Airbrush compressor AS-196 problem
Question: I just bought a compressor but for some reason it seems to not be working right! at the beginning, everything was fine but about 10 minutes of be using my airbrush it started to sound like if the compressor was releasing lots of air from where I believe is the solenoid valve. the pressure can't hardly gets up;however, when I close the hole (the Solenoid valve)with my finger and the air can't go out, the pressure star raising again! I hope you can help me with my problem!!! thanks
Response: Ali, I think, from what you have written, is that you have air bleeding out of the unloader valve, and that is a symptom of a bad check valve. See Check Valve from the site map page to read about what they are and what they do, and see if that helps.
Your compressor is a Chinese import, supplied by Fenghua Bida Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd. Website: www.allproducts.com/manufacture100/bida/Product-2007101113223.html. The actual manufacture appears to be Ningbo Haosheng Pneumatic Machinery Co., Ltd. You can, perhaps, contact them directly for technical assistance.
