Air Velocity

Another question Bill
When a pressure regulator is used to adjust air pressure, does that also adjust the air velocity?

Bill answers...

Howdy!

Yes, it does. Everything that's in the air line, every fitting, every elbow or bend, or any air preparation equipment will do that.

Is that velocity decrease a problem? It depends on what it is you are doing and if the velocity, versus the available flow, is critical.

Upsizing in-line components can help with that issue.

Since I don't know what you are trying to do, I can't be any more specific. Sorry.

Cheers,

Bill
