Air pressure (won't stop - no more pressure)

I understand from your posting that your compressor runs normally up to 40 PSI, reaches that pressure level, continues to run without stopping, and the pressure doesn't get past the 40 PSI level?

If I have summarized the problem correctly, click on the Troubleshooting link, then on the link to the page "Will Not Build Pressure". The info on this, and the page linked from it, will provide all the reasons why your air compressor is acting as it is.
