Air pressure valve does not decrease the pressure

by Bill Wykoff

Air pressure valve does not decrease the pressure when turned to do so. The hand just stays fixed in the same spot.

Does this mean the pressure valve is bad. The 30 gal. Comp I have will not build up pressure beyond 35.

Pressure will not decrease on compressor
by: Bill

Bill, I've moved your post to the regulator page, and suspect that if you read what's here, you'll find that either your regulator knob has become detached from the regulator innards, the knob is stripped, or the gauge is frozen.

If I am correct, yup, a new regulator is in your future I would think.

As to it not building pressure, that's covered on the troubleshooting pages on this site too. Please have a look at them, and then, start a new post in the ASK section or under the compressor brand you need help with.
