Air Dryer port sizing and flow

by Jim

I am building a custom air drier. On both ends I have 1/4 npt to thread into. On the side I have 3/8 npt. That said, my port from my air compressor is 3/4 npt. So from the compressor it would go from 3/4 down to 1/4 (drier) then out to 3/8 then to a 1" pipe for my hose to attach to. Assuming you are able to follow this, will there be an air drop going into the drier? If so, how would I prevent this drop in pressure or flow?

Simple answer... yes!

Go to the sitemap page on this site, and scroll down to this heading: CFM / SCFM / Flow / Pressure Issues.

Read the pages found there. All will be revealed, Jim.
