Air compressor won't start

Have used air compressor only two times, both times for nailing hardwood floor, using pneumatic nailer.
Compressor worked great but shortly after, doesn't turn on at all, no humming, dead. I've let all the pressure out, tried plugging in different switches, nothing.
Suggestions?
Not sure if I should just buy a new one or try to replace something.
Bill wonders...Hey Ed. Thanks for writing in.
When you're compressor calls for more pressure (the pressure switch "feels" the low pressure, then it's supposed to trip and send power to the motor.
Assuming the switch on your pressure switch is set to RUN or ON (assuming you have a switch), and if the pressure gauge is reading zero, then I'm guessing that it's your pressure switch.
That's not too expensive, and may be a better investment than buying a whole new compressor. If you buy it, and it isn't the pressure switch, then you will have a spare for down the road.
Good luck. Let us know how it turns out, will you?
