I have recieved a devilbiss 60 ga 5 hp oil compressor, it ran when i obtained it, i had to lay it down to transport it and when i tried to run it, it would not go. i am getting power to the switch and the motor but it still will not go. Like I said before i transported it it ran and held air. the only thing i can think of is the pressure switch will not let it turn on, there is no pressure in the head or the tank.any ideas would be greatly aprreciated. thanks

Hey Tim:

Putting the compressor on it's side shouldn't have affected the pressure switch.

I'm guessing that you've got sump oil where it's not supposed to be, that from laying the compressor down, and that's likely your problem.

You wouldn't transport a car on it's side on a trailer for the same reason. Oil gets where it's not supposed to be.

Good luck with this.
