Air compressor doesnot re start trips breaker

Air bleeds back through the intake on top of the head does this mean that the valve between the tank and the compressor is bad

Gosh, Oil Can Stan, a bit more info would be helpful.

Are you saying that when you put your hand near the intake port on the side at the top of the compressor head, you can feel air coming out?

That being the case, your intake valve is messed up. It's supposed to allow the head to draw in air, and then block it so that same air can't get out, and instead, is pumped into the tank.

This symptom does not usually trip the breaker.
