Air compressor does not cut on when it's cold outside

Ihave a 95 lincoln continental with air ride suspension.

The guy that sold it to me said that the system stoped working on him so he had a customs shop fix it for him.

In the trunk is a huge tank with a compressor attached . when the system gets low on air the pump cuts on and i have to flick 0ne of four switchs to raise the car or lower the car.

Normally , as soon as i start the car first thing in the morning the pump cuts on, but since its been under 32 degress overnight , the pump won't cut on for at least an hour or two after of driving . What is the problem and what can i do to stop this from happening ?

Alvin... I suspect that your air compressor is too cold to run. Particularly when it is, I suspect, powered by a 12 VDC motor.

Not my area of expertise, though once I replaced the controls for my air shocks with toggle switches as the computer chip had failed and it cost an arm and four legs to buy the replacement. I did it myself.

Don't know why you have a "huge tank" with compressed air in the trunk, as air shocks use very small amounts of air and a smaller air tank would likely do just fine.

Good luck,

Bill
