Air compressor builds 120psi, but there's no air for use

1.6HP 4.3 Gallon oil less compressor

1.6HP 4.3 Gallon oil less compressor

The compressor turns on and stops at 120psi, but it leaks air immediately and restarts at 90psi. It is continuous and I cannot get any air in the hose to run my tools.

Attached is the image of the compressor: 150psi 1.6HP 4.3 Gallon oil less.

I'm new to troubleshooting this model as it was given to me by my father.

Checking
by: Jarrod

Yes, it does cut off at 150 and restart at 120. I spent 10 minutes looking at it last night and realized I gave wrong values.

Anyways, it ran for 5 cycles continually and at the 5th time of reaching max pressure the air started to leak slowly. I noticed that the pressure hose from the switch is old, so I am looking to replace that once I get a better observation of the check valve.

Thank you for the input.

Interesting that it cuts out at 120 and restarts at 90. Supposed to be 150 and 120, respectively.

Anyway, if the check valve doesn't pan out, you could have a broken regulator.

Good luck.

No air pressure

It would help if you read this:

From the sound of it, your tank check valve is leaking. See that page on this site too, for help in correcting that.
